It's time common sense prevailed!

Already far too many yellow cards have been handed out in the first 10 days of the World Cup. The referees have been too harsh on not so severe tackles. On top of the several frivolous cards handed out, here is one instance where a yellow card was issued because the player took the penalty too early! Come on. Given that two yellow cards can lead to the player being suspended for a game, yellow cards cannot be handed out for such minor offences. It's high time some common sense prevailed in FIFA.

Seriously!! As i type this , the costa rica- poland game has seen 8 yellow cards in 60+ minutes of play!

Wont be surprised if a team fields a B team for a game to protect all potential red card "winners".

Worst part of it is there have been yellow cards handed out when there were wonderfully enacted dives and none when some real nasty tackling happened...

I actually don't mind the red/yellow cards. Anyway, after watching the matches I'm sure that no player is indispensable. (ok maybe Riquelme or Lahm or Gerrard or Cannavaro).

Of course, some of the cards (especially on the Ghana penalty taker) have been really silly, but the game needs to open up more and I think this is a step in the right direction.
